I'm impressed! I haven't read for fun other than fic in... some time. I need to get back to the old bibliotheque over the winter break, or at least read some of the ten thousand unread books I've got staring me in the face on my bookshelf. I do not need to buy new books. I've been very "no read, only buy books" these past few years.

SAME. I mean. . . I have several hundred unread books on my Kindle app (though most of my unread physical books are still at my parents' home in Iowa.)

I also don't really have the emotional energy to deal with scary or unpredictable things in fiction right now, so it's pretty much all romance novels, children's books, and history that's 100+ years old (they're all dead anyway! spoiler!) right now.

This is why I largely stick to fic at the moment. I don't have to put a lot on the line emotionally. Will they kiss??? Probably. Oh no there's only one bed!!! Yeah, they're gonna fall asleep on opposite sides of the bed and wake up in each other's arms. It's comforting.
